GPS Connector

Hello.

Thanks for the great app.

I have several Bluetooth GPS devices and I would like to control the "Paired Device" from Tasker.
I want to use the Bluetooth GPS device with the best reception.
Is it possible to do this?

Hi,

sorry - i don't know the tasker app.
Maybe it is possible to find the BT device with best reception in tasker,
but you can't change the input source in GPS-Connector from "outside"!

So this would be a feature which must be implemented in GPS-Connector app.
Alternatively i could add a feature to change the input source from another app via intent.

Let me add this to my internal "wish-todo" list.

This feature would be sufficient.
The tasker app can send an intent.

I have the same need... I'm running Tasker and I can detect when the USB GPS is connected... which intent I have to send to switch the location provider from internal to USB and viceversa?

Hi Iade,

i did'nt implement the "switch source" intent yet, because i'm pretty busy with another project.
Hopefully the next 2-3 month i have more time to make an app update.

Another idea:
You could start the "GPS connector" app, connect your USB device and configure the source accordingly.
Now close the app and restart it once you receive the USB connection event in tasker.
The app will automatically connect to the last active configuration.
Didn't really test it ... but it should work this way.
